Practical Knowledge Base
One reference hub per search surface and AI platform. Not news, not opinion — a stable definition of how each system actually works, updated when the system changes.
How this is organized
- Foundations — the two core terms: SEO and GEO.
- Search Surfaces — Google, Google AI Overviews, Bing.
- AI Platforms — grouped by the lab that builds them: OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude, Claude Code), Google (Gemini), Perplexity, DeepSeek, xAI (Grok), Meta (Llama).
Why this exists
Most agencies write about SEO in general terms because the underlying systems used to be one thing: Google. They’re not anymore — a business now needs to understand seven or eight distinct retrieval and citation systems, each with different rules. This is where we keep that understanding current, for our own team and for anyone else who needs it.
