AI Agent Optimization, By Platform
Gemini, Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity don’t source or cite information the same way — they draw on different indexes, weight different signals, and surface citations differently in their responses. Treating “AI search” as one target misses where the actual gaps are. We work platform by platform.
Why this is broken out separately
Optimizing generically for “AI search” usually means optimizing for whichever platform the consultant happens to test in, and assuming the rest follow. They don’t reliably. A page structured well for one engine’s retrieval pattern can still be skipped by another. Each platform gets its own page below, its own findings, and its own remediation list.
Platform pages
- Gemini — Google’s AI systems draw heavily on the same index and structured data used for Search and AI Overviews; work here overlaps with core SEO/GEO but has Gemini-specific surfacing behavior worth auditing separately.
- Copilot — Built on Microsoft’s Bing index; sites with strong Bing Webmaster Tools coverage and IndexNow adoption have a distinct advantage here that pure-Google optimization misses.
- ChatGPT — Browsing and citation behavior differs between conversational answers and explicit search mode; we audit both.
- Claude — Citation and source-handling behavior with a strong emphasis on verifiable, well-structured source content.
- Perplexity — Built around real-time citation display by design, making it one of the more directly measurable platforms for tracking whether your content gets cited at all.
